FindYarns is a yarn discovery tool. We don't require accounts, and we don't collect personal information like names or email addresses through the site. This policy explains what data is collected when you visit.

Analytics

We use PostHog to understand how people use the site — which pages are visited, which filters are popular, and where things might be confusing. This helps us improve the experience.

PostHog sets a cookie to recognise returning visitors so we can see, for example, how many people come back to the site. Data is processed on PostHog's EU servers (eu.posthog.com). We don't sell or share this data with anyone else.

The information collected includes:

• Pages viewed and time spent
• Browser type and screen size
• Country (approximate, from IP address)
• Referring website

Cookies

FindYarns sets one cookie via PostHog to recognise returning visitors. When you click a “Buy” link to a retailer, that retailer's site may set its own cookies. Those are not controlled by FindYarns.

Local storage

Your selected country and shortlisted yarns are saved in your browser's local storage so they persist between visits. This data stays on your device and is never sent to our servers.

Affiliate links

Some links to retailers on this site are affiliate links. If you make a purchase through one, FindYarns may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.

Third-party services

In addition to the services mentioned above, we use:

• Google Fonts — to load the site typeface. Google may log requests (see Google Fonts privacy).
• Supabase — our database provider. Yarn data is stored there; no personal user data is sent.

Children

FindYarns is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

If we make significant changes to this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
